Jumpbook ("Jumpbook", "we", "us") makes booking and business software for party rental companies. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website, the Jumpbook app, the driver app, and the booking websites we host for rental companies.
Two kinds of information
Information about our own customers and visitors. When a rental company owner or their staff use Jumpbook, or someone visits this website or asks for early access, we decide how that information is used. This policy covers it fully.
Information rental companies keep about their customers. When you book a rental through a company that uses Jumpbook, that rental company decides what it collects and how it uses it. We store and process it for them, only to run their bookings. Their own privacy policy applies, and questions or requests about that information should go to the rental company first. We will help them respond.
What we collect
Accounts
- Name, email address, phone number, and role for owners and staff.
- A password, which we store only as a one-way hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
- Company details: business name, address, phone, website, logo, and settings.
What rental companies enter or receive
- Inventory, prices, photos, and descriptions.
- Bookings and quotes: customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, event addresses, dates, answers to booking questions, notes, and payment status.
- Signed waivers and documents, including signatures.
- Delivery and inspection photos, staff time clock entries, and expenses.
Driver app
Driver logins are created by the rental company the driver works for. The app keeps the driver signed in by storing a sign-in token in the phone's secure storage.
Location. While a driver has a delivery route active in the driver app, we record the driver's latest position, direction, and speed for that route. Location keeps updating during an active route, including while the app is in the background or the screen is off, until the driver ends the route. That is why the app asks for location access set to Always. The rental company uses it to see its routes, and its customers can follow their delivery through a tracking link. We keep only the latest position for each route, not a history of where a driver has been; each new update replaces the last one, and the final position stays with that route's record. We do not collect location when no route is active.
Camera and photos. The app uses the camera or photo library only when a driver takes or attaches proof photos of rental items, such as at pickup. Those photos are saved with the booking for the rental company.
Drivers can get help or ask about their information on our driver support page. To have a driver login removed, ask the rental company, or email us.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe through each rental company's own Stripe account. Card numbers go directly to Stripe. Jumpbook does not receive or store full card numbers. We receive payment details such as the amount and whether it was paid.
This website
- The early access form asks for your first name, business name, email, location, and optionally your phone number. It is sent to our support inbox by email so we can reply to you.
- Our homepage uses the Meta Pixel to measure visits and early access sign-ups for our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
- Our hosting provider records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to keep the service running and secure.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a cookie to keep you signed in. Booking websites use your browser's storage to remember your cart and the answers you have typed while you check out. The Meta Pixel sets its own cookies on our homepage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; if you block the sign-in cookie, you won't be able to sign in.
How we use information
- To run the software: bookings, quotes, payments, routes, tracking, calendars, emails, and the booking websites we host.
- To send emails the service needs, such as booking confirmations, receipts, reminders, password resets, and tracking links.
- To support you, fix problems, and keep accounts secure.
- To improve Jumpbook, using information about how features are used.
- To reply to early access requests and tell you about Jumpbook. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use rental companies' customer lists for our own marketing.
Service providers
We use these companies to run Jumpbook. They only receive what they need to do their part.
- Vercel hosts the website and app.
- MongoDB Atlas stores the database.
- Cloudflare stores uploaded files such as photos and documents, and helps route booking website domains.
- Stripe processes payments for rental companies.
- Google provides Google sign-in, maps, address lookups, and route planning.
- Resend sends email.
- Pusher delivers live updates, such as a driver's position on a tracking page.
- Anthropic powers AI writing tools, such as drafting item descriptions and FAQs. We send item details for this, not customer information.
- Meta receives Meta Pixel data from our homepage.
If a rental company connects another service, such as a CRM, information flows to that service under the rental company's own agreement with it.
Where information is stored
Jumpbook is based in Canada. Our database is hosted in the United States, and some service providers process information in other countries. Information stored outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it.
How long we keep it
We keep account and booking information while the rental company's account is open, so its records stay complete. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymize its information within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep some of it longer. Some information is removed sooner on its own, such as temporary booking holds. Early access emails stay in our support inbox until we no longer need them.
Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls, and reputable hosting providers to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the people affected and the authorities as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.
- You can ask us to delete your information, or close your account.
- You can withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time.
- Rental companies can export their customers and inventory from the app at any time.
Email support@partyrentalprofits.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are a customer of a rental company, contact that company first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Jumpbook is made for businesses and is not directed at children. Rental companies should not enter information about children beyond what a booking needs.
Changes to this policy
We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account owners by email before it takes effect.
